Perhaps you haven’t visited Pittsburg’s beautiful, new Old Town yet. If not, you are definitely missing something. The photo above shows a typical evening in downtown during our Classic Car Shows on Thursday evenings. Lots of people enjoying the summer evening and admiring almost 200 beautifully restored and maintained automobiles. A great night out for the family.

Chocolate Week: February 8 - 14

Well, the time has almost come... it’s Chocolate Week at Steeltown Coffee & Tea!

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we are featuring chocolate in almost every aspect of the coffeehouse. Choose from a selection of delectable chocolate “enhanced” pastries, cookies and desserts. We will even have some special treats like truffles and chocolate gift ideas.

And try out our “Chocolate Factory” Mochas. During this event only, we will allow you to mix and match your own mocha from our selection of chocolates and flavors. Choose from our amazing Ghirardelli Milk or Dark Chocolate as the base flavor, then add one of five different flavor “essences” including Orange, Strawberry, Cherry, Almond and Raspberry. Oh, and do you like chocolate whipped cream? We have that too.

So drop by Steeltown next week and indulge yourself. It’s the one week a year that it’s OK to satisfy your cravings for chocolate to your heart’s content!

New on the menu today! Quiche!
Our bakery wizard, Mike’s Pastry Shop, is now whipping up an amazing quiche for us. First up? It’s a spectacular marriage of baby spinach, portobello mushrooms, bell pepper, red onions and two cheeses, swiss and asiago.

Absolutely delicious.

Coffee & Commerce Meeting, January 14th

Steeltown Coffee & Tea is the location for the Chamber of Commerce’s Coffee & Commerce meeting once a month. This meeting will feature a special guest speaker each month who will inform and update the attendees on a variety of topics. This month: Joe Sbranti with an update on the widening of Highway 4. Plan to stop by on Thursday, January 14th and learn what’s going on... it will definitely have an impact on you and your business!

Art & Music in the Air

The end of 2009 is here, and the New Year approaches. We’ve accomplished a lot in the last four months since we opened; we brought exceptionally high-quality coffee and tea to Old Town Pittsburg, we have supported the community and the Old Town area through donations and sponsorships, and, most importantly, we have developed a small but loyal community of coffee lovers who we now consider our friends.

Our goals for the new year are to continue to get the word out about our amazing coffee, increase awareness of the importance of the environment, and expanding our coffee “family” so that everyone in the area can enjoy the best coffee around.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support. We exist for your enjoyment, and without you we wouldn’t be us.

We are starting 2010 off with a bang! Live Music every weekend in January and we’re currently filling up the February calendar too! Also, stay tuned for a special announcement about a community event that will happen every month this winter... more on that to come.

In addition, if you haven’t seen our new art exhibit, now is the time! Artist Dan Jones, from Concord, CA, has created a collection of painting entitled Mutt Muggs. This set of acrylic paintings are of dogs and captures the cute and varied emotions that you can seen in your dog’s face. Not to be missed, this exhibit runs through the end of February, 2010.

More and more people are talking about Steeltown Coffee & Tea. We are getting mentioned on Twitter (@steeltowncoffee), on Facebook (thanks everyone!), on blogs, and even on restaurant review sites.

I’m extremely grateful for all the positive mentions online! Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to chat us up!
